Someone has made the right sacrifice to the weather gods.
I'm on the road. Left Atlanta at noon yesterday (Wed) and rode 420 miles up to Smith Mountain Lake VA. Hot & Humid. No rain at all but did see billowing black clouds in a few spots. Wonderful evening sunset ride on NC103 / VA103 and VA40. Those are A+ road. Traveling just east of the Blue Ridge Parkway for a change of pace. 0 traffic and really nice curvy pavement to fully utilize the machines capabilities.
Plan today is to ride the entire US522 from Powhatan VA across WV, MD into PA and get to Binghamton NY. Maybe Scranton PA. 475 miles today will get me in good shape for ride into Brockville. Plan to ride NY12 for some scenery. Messed up my lower back (muscle? or nerve?) a couple days ago and need to find some meds for some relief. off to CVS

If you can make it to Brockville, I have T3's and muscle relaxers on hand. I have back issues as well but it's been pretty good the last couple years. How much I owe you for the plugs etc.
Things to do tonight: 1 cut the grass
2 cook supper
3 spend time with the wife
4 try and get everything on the bike.
Also with 20 bikes I was thinking of splitting the group into 2 groups of 10
Faster riders in group one led by MartyA and for those who want to take it a little slower in group two I will need a group leader for it with a bit of a twist in some of the roads I think this will be a safer way to ride we can discuss this.
I stayed last night just north of Scranton. 906 miles down with 280 to go. Good ride so far and the bike is running well. Taking NY12 for some scenery then 1000 Islands Parkway from the bridge crossing. eta say 4pm

Mack: those 8 NGK BP6ES call it $30. The two cans of Bar Keeper's Friend, nothing.

After ziggy zaggin through tug hill plateau land, got home at dinner time just as the thunder began and some rain started. The border at Ogdensburg was a breeze.
Thanks sent to Ken...and thoughts to his family.
and Thank you Wayne for your strength and all you've done. Hats off to you and take good care.
I left Perth after lunch and arrived home at 8:30.
It was so hot and i could not find any shade along the route I was on (Hwy 7) By the time I got to hwy62 I was so baked broiled and done. (stick a fork in)that I took refuge in a McDonalds Where i soaked up cool Airconditioning and sucked up pails of ice tea

I would just like to thank everyone for attending this years XSNorth 2014.
Most of all I really need to thank everyone for their generosity and overwhelming out pouring of support during this very difficult time. I just can't express in words on how grateful Maggie and myself are. I will pass along all the condolences to Ken's family.
Ken worked very hard to make this rally a very special time for everyone. I know he would have been very proud.
Thank you all again,
Wayne and Maggie for Ken Leach
