Good luck, Mark. I had 4 bypasses, including a 99% block, last summer. In on Monday, out on Thursday. Took 3 months in the gym but by then it felt like it never happened.

I did have to winterize the bike in June last year, should be on it next weekend for the first time.

Wasnt in the loop on this one...holy crap... So glad you're completely healthy...amazing how something like one's health or ill health can put things in their proper perspective(s). Glad you're getting back on the FJR it wont take long to regain that "vestibular memory"...Lookin forward to seein ya at Ohio STOC...errrr XSEast...doh!

I just got some bad news. On Monday I had a cath. dye test done on my heart and they told me the veins are clogging up again and its time for them to go. No more stents, it will be a triple by-pass this time. Its going to happen some time in April. That means I will not be able to go to XSNorth. DAMN! So, I will be cancelling my room shortly and that means it will be avilable to somebody else. If I don't go, I guess Bruce and David will not go either. They were both on the fence and now, I knocked them off as we always go as a group.

Next year I hope.

Mark... My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this rough period.I am saddened to hear of your maladies, but am hopeful you'll gain a most favorable prognosis after the surgery. Medical technology is amazing and has come a long way since my Dad has his triple bypass way back in the mid 70's. There will be other XS events that we will see you at I am sure. Take care...

Phil my plans were based upon my brother finding employment and additional income from him...has not materialized as of yet...plus I need to prep for XSEast and then save my money for an Iron Butt SS1000 that i want to do next yr...but i have to save the $ to prep the bike and have the right equipment to ride 1000 miles in 24 hrs or less... I might even have to part with old Max... OFC if you win the lottery that would help...whom I'm not sure...LOL

As for preparing a bike to ride 1000 miles in 24 hrs, I would say if was mechanical fit it shoud easily run for 1000miles. If you are using the ST , that's what they are built for!

The only thing extra I had on my FJR was a GPS, when I did my first iron butt.

But I do understand the other reasons that you have decided not to head up into Ontario.
