These are outlines of the routes. They are not finalized yet, we watch for construction information and update as needed in the spring. As we get close to the rally time we'll finalize them. Also if you want a copy of the routes remind me some time in April or early May. I'll have mulit-page PDFfiles with details (for printing paper maps) and Garmin files I can attach to an email.
Is it time to give the reminder? I'll take the PDF files in an email if you can.
In fact I take all your projected routes whether we ride them or not.
thanks

Dido....If we do not use the route for XSEast, (And maybe even if we do) we may just make an overnight SWOXS ride out of it.
Somewhere I have a list of roads that were recommended to me as must rides in Ohio...I got it from and ST-Owner that lives in Parkersburg WVA and knows and has ridden all the roads in and around SE Ohio for the past 40 yrs...thats alot of knowledge...

As we usually do, we have 2 routes, one for Saturday and one for Sunday. We time the routes so that we can ride for a while, stop and visit for a while, eat and get gas in a timely manner so that the Specials and the special bus riders are happy..
I took advice from several motorcycle forums and came up with the ones we have. We do cover the best roads there. Some as recently as last fall had some work done such as drains across the road so we have to avoid some of the well-known roads. But I think we have a nice selection. Should be fun!!!
Can anyone that hosts a site make some room for some files? That way we can offer a link for everyone to download the routes instead of me emailing them to everyone.

A method I have used in for planned ride routes is to go to Google Maps and layout the route. It lets you make a link to the route you set up and post it. If you look in the control panel area where you enter the locations you will see a "link" Icon (looks kind of like a chain link).
Thanks for that tip, Don. I use Streets and Trips to lay out the route, put in timed stops, locate and time gas stops and photo ops, keep the mileage between gas stops good for them "special" folks, manipulate the routes to where I want them to go, and so on. I learned to use S&T fairly well, and I can translate those routes into Garmin routes. Not sure if my head would explode learning Google Maps - the sponge is full... But I'll give it a looksee.
If someone had a place to store these files easily that would be great, but, lacking that you guys can send me an email and request which files you would like and I'll send them back to you as attachments, not a problem.
File types:
PDF file (with some detail)
Streets and Trips 2010 file
Garmin file.

I understand the full sponge concept Marty. Nver seen S&T before, sounds like a cool tool. Being a Magellan owner, the Garmin stuff is probably not useful to me.
Thankfully we are only getting mildly cool temps. Had to turn the heat back on in the house, but none of that nasty white stuff flying around. Not even sure we will get a frost. In a way I am relived we are getting cold temps. I figured with the mild winter we were either going to get a late spring freeze, or a blazing hot humid summer starting in late April. Just hoping it is not both!!

I can host them if you like. I can put a link on my "toys" page at www.appleattic.net/toys as well as put the link in this thread.

Don can you translate .gpx files into your Magellan?
Don't doctors give you some sort of a shot if that happens to you? Honestly, I have never tried that at all. I'll look up some info to see if that works.

I'll be making my reservations sometime today before the rate increase.
I'm still not certain I can make the rally or not, But just in case all works
out I'll have a place with the group {I hope}.
Making the res. for myself, wife Cindy and my brother-in-law Steve, who
bought my '87 GoldWing Interstate.
If all works out, we'll show up Friday evening.
Looking forward to some good rides,
