I got back home in the Deep South from XSnorth about 0330 this morning. Raining when I got to exit for blue ridge parkway, so I decided to come on home. Did do a detour through Hillsville and Fancy Gap. Nice. Stopped in Greenville for supper and rest break since rain was beginning again with much lightning ahead. Rain had about ended when I left. I generally do not like to ride between 2 & 4, but it is better than riding at midnight in the rain.

        Great rally!

          • home from the rally

Home from the rally without breakdowns of any kind or mishap; lookin at the odometer I logged 4,605. kms not to shabby for a 33 yr old bike.

My thanks 1st off to Rick for pulling this off it was great to see a few old friends and refreshing to meet and make some new ones, the barbecue was terrific, hats off to the cooks, the scenery on route was gorgeous.

Only drawback was my "monkey butt", never where steel reinforced jeans on a long haul folks!

All in all it was great fun and next year it may be a trailer run 4 me; we'll see

            • Hey Bruce & Brent,
Glad to see you made it home safely. It was good spending time with you for a few days. Hopefully we will see you again next year.

Trailering was the ticket for me attending. Wow, what beautiful country you have. Thanks to everyone who organized the rally, especially Rick.

I took the bike on Monday to Sudbury and yes Jim, I did see the Big Nickle and then I went to Elliot Lake. I stopped my westward trek there as a nasty storm was rolling in from the west. I went to Perry Sound and Algonquin Park over the next 2 days and back to Renfrew to put my bike back on the trailer.

After visiting my son in London, I drove home. I did put 2000 kilometers on the bike despite trailering it to Ontario. With the trailer, I know that I can attend more rallies in the future. It helps because we are so far to the east here in Nova Scotia most rallies are 2 to 3 days ride to get to them.
