I like the idea of a 30 year patch. Will we be able to see what they look like before they are finished? Or does it all depend on price?
Ralph, just to note that I have a guy up here in Port Perry that manufactures custom patches and thing like that. If you want I can inquire about cost up here for you.

        • We maybe coming

I'm really interested in coming to the Poconos and so is Dave Steeves. I've asked Bruce (Desert 1) and he says that he will not be going because of the age of the bike....

Well, last Thursday was his Birthday and my wife & I and Bruce's girlfriend went with him to a fancy resturant in Bedford to celebrate. Of course during course of the meal all three of us tried to convince him to go. I also reminded him that he has one of the few 1978's left and it will be the 30th year for it. We didn't get a firm commitment from him but he is giving it some thought.

I will not make reservations at this time. I will want a T-shirt and will order one in the new year when they go on sale.

If I do come and I want to, I will not be on the Scooter. As Russ advised me in NY at the end of the rally (with tongue in cheek) that I should come to the next rally "with a REAL bike". I have been looking for something ever since. Most of the ones I wanted were over priced and not well taken care of. There is a 1979 with full fairing and bags for sale in Tatamgouche, NS and Bruce I will go look at this coming Thursday. If I do buy it, I'll get Dave to truck it home for me.

Sorry for being long winded here but its been awhile.

          Merry XSmas every one

Yeah I would definitely want 2 patches if they become a reality Wayne........

Hey Russ how is it goin anyway? Yoiu gave us all a scare there for awhile!

Rally for me; I'd be facing the drisive avalanche of "Trailer Queen " comments for sure, never say never aint' that what they say?

Look, everyone out there have a heck of a happy Christmas in any form and shape you need to get one, stay away from the rum though

              • We don't care how you get there, just come. I have ridden, trucked, and trailered. Seen folks show up on 4 wheels, 3 wheels, and 2 wheels.

Just come, have a good time. We are a fun bunch, ask anybody!

OK, you might get a jab in the ribs once or twice, rise above it and have a good time!

                • I would have no hesitation riding my 78 XS1100 to the rally (if I was going). I have no doubts that the bike would get me there and back, at least no more doubt than with any other vehicle.

I'd be interested in a couple of patches too.

I just by chance caught this thread now...I was reading thru the posts and other than the dates in May and in Stroudsburg,PA..I didnt see any reference to where/what the acommodations are.Camping?Hotel?Motel?I am not sure if I will make this...depends if my projects for Madmax are done in time.If they are I 'd like to come up and meet y'all...I have to say that I belong to another online forum for the Honda ST-Owners... they are planning in July to head to the PA-Grand Canyon area and base in the town of Wellsboro. This part of PA has absoutely fabulous backroads where traffic is so light that its almost nonexistant...The area iis beautiful and the roads are very twisty and scenic.I cant wait to see this are too.So it looks like I will be logging miles in PA pretty soon.Stroudsburg is alot closer...for me coming from Central NJ...abt 2 hours...no sweat...
