  • Thanks to everyone who came and helped make this a truly XS-ivley memorable time. A fine time was had by all and, except for one heavy lifting injury, no one got hurt and no XS's got severely dented. More on that later, hope everyone has a safe trip home. Already planning next year, somewhere west of here.

I have a boatload of photos to post and as soon as I have them ready, I'll let you know.

Meanwhile, the XSEast 2008 award winners are:

BEST XS - Wayne Reddin's "Phoenix"
BEST NON-XS - Tied between Dena Granger and Mark Stanton.
FURTHEST DISTANCE XS - Wayne Reddin - 750 mi.
FURTHEST DISTANCE NON-XS - Maxim Phil -1070 mi.
YOUNGEST RIDER - Hanna Mitchell - You GO, Girl!

BEST ASS AWARD - The plastered girl in the white dress. Well, IN the dress MOST of the time! If you have to ask, then you should have been here!

              Hello all.
Just wanted to say that the rally was great. I had a terrific time. Thanks Randy for putting this all together and for all of the help you gave me getting the bike ready for the rally. Your fixing the rear brake on the bike seemed to finally unleash the monster that lay hidden beneath.

I also wanted to thank everyone in attendance for the warm welcome and for treating me like on of the family. I am already looking forward to the next rally and seeing you all again.

                      • Home from the poconnoos

Made it home about 430 Monday afternoon. Made it as far south as Roanoke, VA Sunday night. Light traffic Sunday and Monday morning. Traffic moved well all day. No mechanical issues. It was an expeditious journey...No luggage or important stuff was lost. (I will check for missing bike parts later) No unexpected encounters with unfriendly natives, nor any public record of my location speed and direction of travel.

XSeast from Georgia? A lillle far traveling, but always WORTH_THE_TRIP.

Thanks for all who attended and participated.
Randy, Thanks to you and your family for putting together a Great rally.

                          • Wow, going through almost 300 photos an sucking on an Arrogant Bastard. It doesn't get any better than this!

My bad. I forgot to mention That Gary was the winner of the Harley Award. If it existed, he would also get the Ingenuity Award for stuffing a whole XS into his minivan!

                            • Another couple of safe arrivals.

                              Hey there ALL,

I didn't leave until this morning around 9:00 am, slept in since I was up late chatting with my brother that I hadn't seen in 10 years, and really never got to know him much years before....we grew up separately...different moms! I found out that he's always wanted to get an XS11, but had just had smaller V-twin Rice Cruisers and such, rode at the rally on a '96 Yamaha 600 sporty that he'd been fixing from the PO's wrecks, etc.! Heard that he made it back to Rhode Island safely, as well as myself arriving in Portsmouth, Va. without incident, and I didn't even get LOST!

Did loose my mapquest printouts when I got to Dover, Delaware but I knew where I was going from there, just needed them to get past the Philly/DC/Baltimore area!!! Did have a Yuppie in an Escalade try to change lines into me, but he heard my horns in time....and then profusely apologized as I rode by politely gesturing that he really should look over his shoulder!

Randy, you forgot the Harley Award Recipient....and it wasn't ME!!! I won it last year since I had trailered Godzilla then, but I rode it the 350+ miles this time. The Xsive with the 78E from Canada that brought his "IN" his minivan while coming up from Florida, and was returning with Wayne Redding, recieved the dubious award...I regret that I can't recall his name/handle! Dang CRS!!!

Thanks to Randy for putting on a great XS East, getting to meet many familiar friends, as well as the newbies. Was a very large turnout with riders of all sorts of bikes, cruisers, sportbikes, Harleys, even a KTM type Enduro!!

Looking forward to even more challenging roads in Western PA next year!
