    Front Tire wohs!

    Damn question...yada yada yada...

Went to put on a new front tire yesterday, and when I loosened the nut on the bolt, the forks closed in on me, making it a bitch to take the tire off...not to mention getting it back on. Any one experianced this? Did I do something wrong in the prosses?

        "Bent fork tube?"

I'd have to see the situation to figger it out.

Wait, do you mean "closed in" as in the lower fork rotated? If that's the case then all you need to do is let the air pressure out of the forks, and move it by hand so it aligns back up.

I found that removing one of the brake calipers on my standard allows me to remove the front wheel with *much* more ease than letting all the air out of the tire. Much less drama.

On the Special model I always remove the fender which allows me to twist the forks moving the brake calipers out of the way to remove the wheel. After replacing the tire, reinstall the wheel in reverse order.

Forgot to mention - I have a Tkat forkbrace - you can no longer just let the air out of the tire and turn the forks out of the way with this brace.
