I put a set in the dishwasher w/o the dry cycle added a little simple green to the mix. I wasn't worried about the inner clean too much, but the looked good on the outside.

Make sure there is no crud in the gas tank. Seal the tank if there is. Sometimes the inside of the fuel line deteriorates and plugs up the needles and seats. Clean under the screens on the float seats and install new orings if it has them.

I had one that the vents were plugged on the air box causing the Carbs to overflow.

        Thanks for all the help.
I cleaned the carbs (without using the basket kit) set the floats, changed the oil and filter, all seems to work good now.
        Thanks again!

Anything special to keep in mind on in-line fuel filters? I was looking at just getting the see through type, wanted to ask before spending more money.
          Thanks

.. i have had good luck with the small arrow shaped ones that you can see through, the ones with the brass center. they flow good and they catch way more stuff than the screen thats sitting above your needles and seats

I used the little plastic ones....but they both cracked the next time I worked on the bike. I probably wasn't as careful as I should have been but I honestly don't think I was that rough on them. Must have been cheapos. I will be finding some metal ones soon.
