Hi Folks--
I finally found some time to tear into my bike to see if I could figure out what caused it to break down. Good news...it's NOT the tranny!! Bad news...it IS the driveshaft/final drive. The area where the driveshaft meets the input to the final drive was COMPLETELY dry, and the splines had worn to the point of total slippage. The area where the grease is put in at the fitting was fine. How can I make sure that I don't have that problem any more? Speaking of lubrication, where can I get info about proper lubricants and capacities for the whole bike? Is there a way to flush out the middle gear assembly on the bike? Any help is greatly appreciated. I haven't been able to ride since October, and it's making me kinda crazy.
