I just changed out my steering head bearings and my fork seals. Obviously I had the entire front end apart and the dash and light off. When I put it all back together...everything is great except the headlight doesn't work, including the highbeam indicator?! I put the voltage meter on it and randomly got no, and then wavering low, voltage. I have to wonder if I grounded something out or what? I wanted to get some input before I took the dash apart to look for a broken wire.

I just went through this yesterday. No idea why I was getting some voltage, but ended up being a fuse for the headlight. It came apart in my hand.. so I wired it up for a buss fuse... ended up having no dash info then. Ended up having to do them all. Once I opened the fuse box and tried to close it... nothing had good contact again until i got this done. Here is a link to the "Poor boy" fuse fix.

I had grounded a wire! I took the headlight bucket off and found the wire to the highbeam indicator had a stripped side. It had grounded out causing the whole deal to go out. I put some electrical tape on it and VOILA! I have light.JimBoReeno
