I checked at Yamaha .com, and the prefix of the part number was different, meaning a different part. They may fit just the same. You would have tpo buy one and try it to truly know, or maybe 650 Mike would know.

edgo those Tank Badge look like the ones on my XJ750 and if they are they will fit. You see they have very sticky glue like sticker on the back side of the badge.

              Mike's XS badge

Mike's XS parts are exclusively for the XS650. Sometimes they apply to other XS models as identical. In this case I can assure you that the tank badges from Mike's XS WILL NOT fit the XS1100. I own both bikes. The XS650 wears a smaller badge on its smaller tank.

Right you are, the holes won't line up but it is possible to just glue the badges on or use double sided tape. Another possibility is this outfit. http://www.badgereplicas.com.au/badges_yamaha.htm Prices are in Aussie $s.

I have these replica badges on Swamp Thing. They're super quality, but made of cast metal. Be aware that because they are cast metal, they are just a wee bit smaller than the stock ones they used for their molds. (The metal shrinks when cooling). They're also real gold plated, so they'll NEVER tarnish.

That being said, ONE of the holes will be about 1/8" off. I solved this by drilling (ever so carefully) another hole in the tank flange 1/8" aft of the forward hole and tapped it 4mm for the original screws. The screws are still available BTW.

It's perfect, but you'll need nerves of steel (or 3+ beers) to get it done without piercing your tank.

The Aussie badges aren't exact either. I bought a set for my '79 Special and they were close...but no cigar.

I had to redrill and tap the mounting holes. The manufacture claims the holes are of due to cooling of the metal upon casting...yes these Aussie badges are metal.

However I have bought some Yamaha tank badges for an XJ750 Maxim. They have no holes for screw mounts and must be put on with dual sided adhesive tape. They look fine.

A friend of mine bought the Aussie badges for his XS-2. They were unsatisfactory. They did provide a full refund however.
