I was just about to (been busy building a garage).
3 pick-up coils, 3 ign coils. One helluva backfire when starting sometimes.
Only 2 triples left in my yard. Both are XS750SF. One (Cerberus) is being held for the brother of the original owner (deceased) until he goes on leave to come pick it up. He was flying F-18 in Iraq until Sept. Now he's in Texas training the next wave of F-18 pilots. The other is a partser that may become a "street-fighter" unless I get rid of it beforehand.

I thought they all had to be 120 (0,120,240) degrees, which makes a shared coil not a possibility.
Please tell me that Yamaha didn't do it.

Nope, Yamaha did not, but Laverda in Italy did.
The early 1000cc triples had the outer two cylinder 360° apart and the center 180°.
XS1100 and XS650- what do you need more?

They did at least put the two cylinders that were at 360 at the outsides of the crank, and not beside each other.
