    I want my UJM back!

Gotta admit, my 2001 Kawasaki Voyager XII is a great bike to ride until you gotta put your feet down. Then it becomes a fat, stubborn bitch that refuses to move and I divorced one of those over 30 years ago.

Then there's basic maintenance, in this case change the spark plugs, clip a little off the spark plug wires to get good contact with the cap, lube the Speedo and throttle cables and figure why the coolant tank drains and doesn't refill.

I'll let the picture do the talking, thanks to Wendell at Smitty's Motorcycle Lodge in Tellico Plains Tennessee for giving me a spot to do this, what a PITA!

The big reason I sold the Connie I had was It was to big a pita to work on. 8 hours to adjust valves and the rest of the service is crazy!

I always hated working on full dressers and charged more for obvious reasons. Takes for ever to get to anything. The ironic math of it all is the bike is made for heavy miles so you end up needing to do a lot of maintenance if you use it for what its intended. Even oil & filter is a chore. And rear tires are a real pain. I once had to change a thermostat on a 1500 Goldwing. Body panels, hoses, wires and a lot of swearing. I do like working on my Valkyrie because there is no (unconventional) bodywork.
