    The petcock pics show they gots both the thick Rubber O-rings (prob'ly nitrile...) AND the fibrous washers on the mounting screws which are s'posed to electrically isolate them from the tank. (*^‿^*)

    That's what mostly keeps away the dreaded "dissimilar metals galvanic corrosion" which almost ruined MY riding season a few years ago. ( ゚ Д゚)

    Dunno how's come you got the resistance (low?) readings with a set up like that but if you say they're not being eaten away/corroding then I'll take it as a win. (  ゚ ,_ゝ゚)

      Mike, I usually don't like Chinese parts but I really like these petcocks. They have been very reliable for several years. I bought some spares just in case.

        Looks like the important thing is to use the 90 degree elbow on the front side of each petcock.

        I measured the resistance and found 6.1 Ohms on the Venturer and 0.5 Ohm on the XS750. I had the XS750 petcocks off last winter to clear coat the tank. There was no corrosion at all after 12 years, but the screens fell off inside the tank. I had originally seated them with Seal-All, so I fished them out and hit them again with Seal-All.

        Yes Mike! I have taps similar to these on a couple of XS650s. The outlet can be placed on either side and there's a screen inside. I bought a shim pack to get the elbow pointed in the right direction. These could prove a good option to OEM. OEM parts for fuel tap rebuild are available. Rebuilding the OE taps can easily cost as much as $300 especially since I don't have the valves.

        What I have is two XS1100SGs that I carted out here from Georgia. Currently no titles. I'd like to save one as a resto mod. The other, I need to begin removing parts not worth saving and get them gone. I'm not planning to stay here forever. Also 5 XS650s.

          I read 6.9 Ohms as measured from the red lead clamped on to the petcock body up to the "rusted" screw under the gas cap. (•_• )

          O'course when I first installed the petcocks the tank was bone dry. That was when I used the multimeter to check for continuity/resistance between the petcocks and the tank. (⊙ᴗ⊙)

          I had to make sure that I didn't somehow bork up the install by letting one of the screws rub/touch against the mounting flange which would'a ruined the whole "electrical isolation" thing I was shooting for. ヽ(O_O )ノ

          Reading I got dry was infinity ohms as in NO path for electrons at ALL. (^_^)

          BUT... as you can see once there's a full tank of high quality Circle K gas with 10% ethanol all year round??? (_oO)

          Imma getting readings very close to yours. *:・゚ ₍ᐢ•ﻌ•ᐢ₎*:・゚

          Just saying that it certainly seems that the 6.1 ohms on the Venturer Petcocks ain't nuthin' to worry about as the Petcocks I have and KNOW are isolated are reading close to what you see. ( ‾́ ◡ ‾́ )
