  • Just To Be Sure...

i've gotten to the carbs on my project and the old gas has chrystalized. there are only small deposits in the carbs themselves, and carb cleaner is doing fine on the one i've started on, but i still have 2 questions. 1) will prolonged soaking in carb cleaner cause deterioration of the gaskets? 2) same question for the fuel line fittings, 3) and is it safe to use a soft (baby) tooth brush to clean with?

Yes, if you're using the carb cleaner in a bucket that you soak the carbs in. Too rough for rubber gaskets, seals and plastic parts. Use a NON-clorinated spray carb cleaner instead.
) and is it safe to use a soft (baby) tooth brush to clean with?
Yes, but clean it afterwards before sticking it back in the baby's mouth... and don't tell your wife about it!
