    1980 G Brake Pads

I am confused buying brake pads... I know the special has different pads for the left and the right caliper on the front... and EBC chart says that EVEN for the Standard G that I have... can you help me out here. Are the pads different on my G?

Also, off topic... what are your opinions on seats...my stock seat foam is so soft, I can feel the pan under me, and it puts my knees up high. It is awful. A few options. Get new seat foam... buy a knock off seat from overseas... or perhaps someone has an old seat that they want to part with? I also see a Saddlemen seat for sale on Ebay...

The G front pads should be the same on both sides. The SG, and ALL S pads are each different for the front. Yes, four different pad!
For the seat, I put 1" closed cell foam, and then 3" open cell foam on a seat and it a nice ride. You can re-use your cover if it's in good condition, or find a new cover online. There was a place in Texas that made nice covers, but it's been about 15 years since I've needed to look for one.

I believe this is the company Ray was talking about in Texas. Yamaha – Tagged "1980" – Page 2 – B&H Specialties

I bought a seat cover from them for one of my LG's and they did a very nice job on it.
      2 - 80 LGs bought one new

Cool. Seat cover is immaculate, just the foam really sucks. For the pads, the rear appears to be the same too?

Yes, both of the front calipers as well as the rear use the same pads on the G.
