    Headlamp Upgrade 79 xs 1100

With my battery drain fixed for now I was wondering if there is a large rectangular headlamp upgrade. I see across the bottom of he bulb it says "Motorcycle" so I am hesitant to put an Auto sealed beam in its place.

I have a TruckLite LED in mine. Probs a very early LED design. It's terrible.

I think the '80 had the replaceable bulb in it. You can get a "superbright" LED to replace the halogen bulb. I've done it for my '79 Special and like it. Plenty of light, and less draw on the charging system.

          Try these bulbs! https://www.superbrightleds.com/vehi...&series=173703
No I don't get anything from them, but I DO like the products they produce.

I run an Auxito LED in my bikes. Work great, cheap online... no issues.

I use Auxito bulbs also. Just restored a CB900C and changed every bulb. Now the bike charges @ 14.5 volts.

Mine was replaced with a plain Jane Sylvania H2 bulb from the local auto parts store, the one already in there was an unidentified knock off of some kind and I can assure you it's quite bright.

Thanks. No need to repeat that on our bikes.
