Thanks, wish they'd put the part number in the item listing so that would show up in google searches. I didn't even think about Yambits having em. Cost me $40 which sucks but at least I'll have em.

There are 2 different types you know, one for the Special front forks, and one for the Standard fronts which also fits all the rear calipers. The one for the Specials front on the left of the pic....

I have found that Yambits primarily gears all of their parts towards the standards. You have to be really careful when ordering parts from them. The best way to find those clips for the specials is to do a search on Ebay as Deebs has just done. Do a search for the Special front brake calipers and pay particular attention to the pictures posted so that you can verify whether the clips are still present. Unfortunately many mistakenly throw those clips away because they think they are part of the pads because they sometimes get stuck to them not realizing they need to be reused. Of course you end up having to buy the entire caliper just to get the part you want. I just did a search on Ebay and found several varying in price from the mid 30 to 60 plus dollar range.

I was thinking about this again and I believe I might have confused two different pieces of the calipers. The clip that you showed in the OP does not really make contact with the brake pads. The piece I was referencing is the metal plate that rests on the back of the pad that makes contact with the caliper piston. That is the piece that is usually mistakenly thrown away. Looking on Partzilla that metal piece does not show up on the schematics. The clip you are referencing actually clips into the fork itself. So long story short my post above may not help you with the pieces you are looking for. You could probably do a search for forks for the specials and as I stated in my first post look at the pictures closely to see if those clips are present.

This is the metal plate between the pad and the piston sometimes referred to as the shim. They came stock on early XS11's but were discontinued on the later models. My 78 still has them installed. You can see the circular impression from the caliper piston. You can also see the retainer clips on either side of the pad to aid in self alignment of the caliper as the pads decrease in thickness. The red color is an anti-squeal chemical.

Ah... hopefully Yambits will let me cancel the order. I emailed them about it. I found a set of forks (for the same price as the yambits order) that look to have those clips still in them. If I can just find one I'm sure I can make a replica of it.
