  • carb rebuild

    I been looking for a carb rebuild kit for my 1980 xs11g . all i can find are kits for the lg,lh,sh 80-81 and the 80 sg. are any of these carbs the same as a G
    Thanks for any help.

    The kits SHOULD be the same. Check your frame for the build date, and try to check your carbs with the yamaha site. IF the kits include new jets, BE CAREFULL!!!
    Some of the companies that supply jets with the kits put in the WRONG size! The best thing is take apart and clean your carbs, replace the needle and seats, and float bowl gasket, and put them back together. Unless you have a LOT of miles on the carbs, the rest should still be in good order, once cleaned.

      I have been told that all versions of a given year run the same carbs. Can anyone confirm this?
      1979 XS1100 Special with 81 carbs

        I've had my carbs apart 3-4 times and gaskets were fine, unless they tear you should be ok with the old ones.

          I just did my 80G carbs, got the parts from Parts n More.
