Sorry for not responding, I have been busy lately. Im running stock exhaust and stock air box. When i bought the bike it had pods on it with stock jets. I put the airbox on and put new jets on it with no change in mileage and still no change in mileage after changing the pilot size (its been a while and i can not remember the adjustments I made off the top of my head, can find out later). Part of my current problems is the o-rings in the drain screw are now leaking this is a brand new issue and my brand new bowl gasket set is trash so I know put of my issue is this. As far as how it runs the only time it struggles to run is a cold start when the temps are under 60 farenheit. These carbs also have brand new floats and ever since u bought this bike I have had issues with the floats getting stuck open due to dropping low. I have tried to adjust this and still have the issue. The carbs have given me so much trouble I believe I would waste less money replacing them.

Did you look in the threads on the left side of this forum? Tells you how to clean carbs, what jet sizes, and how to check that float level. If you are not confortable posting send a private message to Cajun, or one of these guys that posted and they could help you. I have done that and have gotten great advice. I have had my bike since 1986 long before this forum and before I had internet. Just ask.1980 XS1100 SG

Also I doubt once if you do buy those carbs they will be plug and play so to speak. Even the ZRX carb mod does require some modifications to work on these bikes. I know of no one who could help you if you buy those carbs-very few if that.1980 XS1100 SG

All,
I know I am late to this party but wanted to add a few cents to the conversation. I don't want to open a "Can-of-Worms" BUT...
I have four(4) operational XS11's and consistently get ~33-37mpg from all of them. I spend most of my XS11 riding time in the saddle of the two 1980's (Green Duck & Blue Bagger). These are on the higher end of the previous statement averaging 35-37 on those two. ALL of these bikes have been properly color-tuned and vacuum balanced properly RUNNING (before and after colortune). In MY OPINION it is NOT possible to get these carbs tuned ANYWHERE NEAR correctly sitting cold on a "BENCH TUNE".
Also in my opinion, any XS11 getting ~20mpg is TERRIBLY out of proper adjustment or has significant internal problems.
Here's the can of worms...... with 100% NON-ETHANOL SUPPLEMENTED FUEL all of these machines will jump up into the mid to upper 40's in MPG. That's basically 30% OR MORE improvement in fuel mileage.
