I'm running Vance Hines softies that come off pretty quick, but they look nice and are certainly handy for a commuter.

        Hey BlueJeepLab,

I didn't want to spend all those big bucks, so I decided to make my own:

Here's the Diamond Plate Saddlebag thread if you want to check them out!?

Not hard at all, unlock the locking tab, and lift and pull, and they are OFF! Did you see the whole thread, I thought I included the mounting brackets and bolts showing how easy they are to pull off and put on!

BTW, did you notice my tail lights? They aren't gray lenses, but cutouts of the OEMs, there is a clear diffusor on the inside. I'm running large LED's inside, and wanted them to show thru better in the daytime, so that's why I did the cutouts, and then sealed them with clear silicone and a thin clear plastic cover!

My hat is off to you TC, you truly are a man of talent. Nice stright cut and with a jig saw no less. I'm one of those impatient guys and you know what that leads to.

The Vance Hines bags I have were installed by the PO and my first inclination was to take em off and hang em in the garage until I found out how nice it was to be able to put my dress shoes in the bag and wear something that will actually protect my feet while I ride to work, have the rain suit handy, have the garage door opener within reach, etc. They don't look bad at all (no Faux Harley leather for me, thank you) and they can hold for bags of groceries when expanded. Who needs a car? Oh yeah, I forgot, it snows here.

I will get some pics of the Battle Cruiser posted after I investigate what AOL provides me for a personal website.

I keep seeing these on Ebay and are very intrigued by them

                http://search.stores.ebay.com/search...&fsop=1&fsoo=1

The prices are certianly nice. It seems the only thing to figure out would be a mounting system, which dosent seem like it'd be that hard. They come with straps and hardware.

They also have molded brake lights built into them and look really nice!! There are a couple of other places that sell hard bags on Ebay too. Most are universal fit.

                  Hey JW,

Those are nice looking bags, and a great price compared to the several times more for true custom fit types! They're about the same price as what I ended up putting into mine, and a lot less work as well!! Good find. The trick would be to paint them, IF you didn't like Maroon or Silver or white!

Luckily they have black too, which is what I was looking for.

I'd still want to contrive some type of removable mount, too.

Those trunks aren't too bad looking either. Would have to fab up some sort of rack for it too though. At $70 they seem like an awesome deal.

Those are sharp, but I wonder how they shrunk the Dodge Neon to make the rack trunk?

i've been looking at those bags and trunk for about three weeks now. if you look they are kinda on the small side, keep searching i saw them a hair bigger even one that will hold two full face helmets. But that is a very attractive price for those.

                            Off thread but.....

This is off this thread but if anyone has a thought or a concept on how to make a heat shield for the end of a "dented" exhaust megaphone....mine is the stock 78XS11 exhaust system with a hand sized dent at the end of the megaphone and I need to hide it, something in chrome or stainless perhaps.....sorry for the intrusion:

On saddle bags, I wouldnt be without them! Keep your lids fastened well and dont forget how much wider your bike is when your in tight places.
