    It is easy to over-torque the allen-head screws. You don't want to strip out the holes - don't ask how I know!

      The button head Allen screws -either the part where you insert the Allen key is a sloppy fit or the Allen key is worn. I got tired of trying to remove a brand new Allen head button screw as the heads stripped. I bought JIS screws on McMaster -Carr and am replacing all the top carb screws.

        To answer the original question: M5 X 0.8 thread. 8mm length. Also shown is a typical Helicoil tool for repairing damaged threads.

          I have the heli-coil tool. Worked for 25 years as a maintenance mechanic doing repairs all the time.
