Where to tap or pry head for removal?

I have the 8 acorn nuts and the 2 12mm center nuts off and don't want to break anything. I've been pounding on the 1 & 4 manifolds at the bottom and no joy. I've been lightly prying under the exhaust studs of 1 & 4.

Where's the sweet spot to break the head gasket seal? Please help before I go ape .... on it.

Well now if I'd look at a book or clean the debris off my parts bike head I'd see all the bolts.... eye's ain't what they used to be

No big bore kit in there, oh well, maybe I'll have some better luck with the lottery this evening.

Don't forget the two hex nuts in the center front and rear.

Now there are specific pry points if you plan on removing the jugs.

Thanks Phil. It lifted right off once the innermost acorn nuts were excavated from the dirt and debris. It should have been obvious that there was 4 studs around each hole.

build a few wooden wedges for removing the jugs! four of them will help. Also, CLEAN all the studs best you can before trying to remove them. The dirt on the studs will keep the jugs from moving very far, DANHIK.

Good idea on the wedges, will use that next time I pull the head on a cycle.
