    New way to install carbs.

I got 4 New carb boots and was having a hell of a time trying to put the carbs on the bike.
I ended up using a ratchet strap to 'pull them on.
Heat gun helped a little to make them a bit more pliable.

Impressive use of the simple machine mechanical advantage George. I've never found the carb to boot insertion to need this "more power" approach even with new boots. I do a thin coat of grease around the spigot ends on the carbs and the carb array slips right in with some rocking motion. Seems like a good extra set of "hands" though.

Brand new boots. I tried using a crowbar, but only one side would go on, then I'd shift to the other side and the first side would pop out. Maybe after they get broken in some, it'll be easier, like my other bikes.

Hi Bormoley, the K&L brand seems to be packaged from tourmax. Part number 11-6113

lots of counterfeit parts on the online market

if I remember correctly, the last set I purchased was from Cruzin Image in Japan.

IME, Spray Plasti-Dip is a good way to rejuvenate the outside appearance of cracking boots and holds up real well. Sure, if the boots are cracked all the way through might not be the solution however I have not run into that. YMMV.
