    Snip cables and sheaths with a wirecutter or pliers. Re-solder the brass attachment (handlebar ends) Standard won't handle well if the standard fork tubes are poking up thru the top clamp more than 1/2 inch. Doesn't track well. Low bars are good on twisty roads with the fork tubes flush.

      To put the clip-ons above the top clamp on a standard, you use the longer special tubes with a spacer on the fork springs.
