Well I hooked up the tank on my standard. My problem is gas runs out of the vacum line hookup. I`am unsure as how to proceed either block them off or join them in a T with the fuel lines or something else. What is the best way to do this? Thanks

If you have gas running out of the vacum line, the petcocks need to be repaired or replaced. DO NOT try to run the bike that way!!
Take a look on the left, and read some of the teck tips, or do a search on "petcocks" to see what may help.Ray Matteis

Hey Wildbill,
I'm trying to figure out what you meant in the title of your post? Did you put a Special tank on your Standard? If so, then you may not realize that the Special doesn't have any vacuum lines going to the petcocks, cause they usually use the Octopus! Both petcock outlets are fuel supply lines! One is Prime and the other is the RUN/Reserve line IIRC. Remember, the function is what the petcock handle is covering/pointing to when turned! So...you can "T" the front ones together, cap them off at the petcock, depending on whether you want to be able to have PRIME function.

Pull the plugs and crank it, if it spins ok, check the timing. It you get a spray of fuel, your hydro locking.

In case you want to go for the stock fuel line setup with the octopus I have the octopus with all the fuel lines on it for the special. You will need to replace the rubber lines but what I have will show you what is is supposed to look like. The rubber lines are not cracked just hard no longer flexible. e-mail to andreashweiss@yahoo.com
