Jazzrat emailed me and said he aint givin up!!,not sure if he'd like an intrusion but i'm sure he would like some help

He changed his coils and re routed his fuel lines

bike is boggin down if it actually starts, now it might catch and run for split second and backfire

He says he has MASIVE cracks in his carb rubbers/intakes

So he is going to change those as he has some and some carb rebuild kits , he is going to do those as well at the same time ,when he gets the time that is

So once he's done these things fingers crossed he will be sorted

I might have jumped the gun a bit asking for help for him

He is getting pissed off and frustrated at times as he has done little riding time on his bikes

He say's there are not many members in Florida so

not much help at hand without paying shop prices

I just wanted to try and get someone who can help with these issues for him as he deserves a chance to ride his bike after all his time ,effort, money and committment he's given it!!

Thumpers if you just private message or email him and just ask if he wants you to pop by see what he sayys??

I have known Jazzrat since before he picked up the xs1100. I went over with him and drove it the 130 or so miles back from the west coast of florida, so I kind of know the history on this bike.

I have helped him a bit since he got it but it was running OK the last time I saw him a few months ago. Something must have happened since then like the mention of his vacuum lines being wrong.

I think part of it is he brought it to a bike mechanic that did not know his a$$ from a hole in the ground. I have traded a couple of e-mails with him and my run up to his place next weekend to see what I can do. I am in no way a great bike Mechanic but I have been able to get by on mine for a while.

If I run into anything weird when I look at it, I will post for some assitance.

Jazzrat is a good guy and he has patients. He won't give up so easily.

cheers Thumpers i know he wont give in right now but how long can a guy take the crap he is delt??

are you on about the 750 he took to a mechanic??

or has one seen his 1100 as well??

im just gutted for jazzrat as there aint many members in florida

over here there aint many but 100 mile trip will put us in touch with a fair few of them we do have

Tim deserves a ride on his bike it sounds like it is prob carb rubbers now

he is going to have a go at them himself so well see what happens then

His fuel lines are causing grief tho !!

Tim never asked or never will ask for help (other than on the forum in txt)

just thought id see if i could rustle up some help for him ,so he'd know if worst comes to the worst there maybe some help at hand

like you say he got and took his bike to a mechanic and that did nothing

so what's a bloke to do if that even goes wrong!!

At one time, he took the 1100 to a mech or two. I had carb rubber problems on mine and just bought a new set. I still have the old ones and they might be salvageable if his are not. I know how to test for the leaks though.

I will be meeting up with him likely next weekend and see what I can do.

              Hey Thumper, and Gaffer,

I've been chatting with him thru Emails. He was concerned with his intake mounts, but many can look very bad externally, and still be intact and fully functional internally. I think the biggest problem he has is going to be carbs and his fuel lines! He got some crap from some local yokels, thick dual walled stuff that is too difficult to effectively clamp onto the nipples and ports, they keep coming OFF!! I've just offered him some spare Polyurethane that I received with a batch of parts, can drop it in the mail tomorrow, so it'll be there by the weekend!

He's going to pull the carbs and take a good look inside, and give them a good cleaning! Thumper, you could really help him with this, and keep him from breaking the delicate parts!!

I think he'll hang in there till he gets it running right, he doesn't sound like a quitter!!

I have seen more in South Florida then 4 XS's. Just need to get them to join the forum.

yes, I hear ya thumper... I too could use some help... but glad to lend a hand to any XS-ers. just finished rebuilding mine, start it tonight, continues to run @ blah-blah-blah-blah, give it gas and it chokes. spark is good on all four, just redid head gasket with yamabond4, resynched the rebuilt carbs, primed the carbs, reset idle mix screws on top on carbs to 1 1/2 turns. huh...suggestions?
I live just west of pbia airport, delray not too far at all.
