  • Missing idle jet.

Fool that I am I have misplaced an idle jet from my XJ1100 carbs. I use this bike for work when I don't need the van so it's important for me to get the carbs back togetherI had all 4 of them on the bench and was cleaning them one at a time and somehow I've lost one, most likely caught it with my arm or whatever but I've cleaned out the place and cannot find it, so I desperately need a 47.5 idle jet for my carbs. Can anyone help by selling me a single jet, blocked or otherwise.

Alternatively I have a set of 4 size 40 jets from a spare set of XS carbs. Could I get away with these and running more turns out on the idle screw?

Try here. I think you mean the pilot jet. Should be able to match it up.
Mikes XS By the way, don't mention is not for a xs650 if it is the right part. hint hint.

Oh man that's just what I need! They are commonly called idle jets over here, but I guess pilot jet is the correct terminology. No wonder my searches were coming up blank!

Thanks, I'll order one right away, bet it costs me 5 times as much to ship it as to buy it

Mikes has a lot of stuff on it. You may want to look around and see if there is other stuff you need.

By the way, where are you from? It does not state in your profile.

          Hi thumperjsa.

          I'm in the UK.

Looking at the jets on that site they have holes in the side of them that my jets do not have.

I hope the pilot jet number is correct as stated. Little deviations from 42.5 can be trouble, so 47.5 could be RICH.

Ooops, I just checked and you have an XJ which I know nothing about. Sorry, disregard my prior comments.
