    Testing TCI Transistors

    For those of you who've ripped apart your TCI and want to test the transistors, here's a guide. Don't use a digital meter. Also, be sure your meter actually has the + voltage on the red lead. Not all of them do! Can confuse (flip) the results, but won't do any harm. Have fun.

                You can use a digital meter if one of resitance ranges has a little diode symbol associated with it. Most of the better DVM's have them. On that range the voltage/current is adjusted to bias the junction properly.
