RLU Bypass Problem

I read the post about bypassing the RLU unit, and decided it would be a good idea. So after snipping both the blue/black and blue/yellow wires from the connector and twisting them together, I find I have no headlight what-so-ever. No bright, no low, not even with the engine running.

Did I splice the right wires? I did what the post said to do... right?

Okay, this thing starting to bother me. Lousy electical gremlins!!! I did just as is indicated on skids site, and the light STILL doesn't work. Any clues?
