    SeattleChuck:

I hope your Granddad's 92 was not an original 44/40 from before Chuck as that would be worth a lot more than $1000. The replicas are selling for 500-1000

The gun was 104 years old and I had it appraised twice. 1100 was the top I could have expected

$500 for 3 XS1100s. An E, SF, and SG. The E had 45K miles on it. The SF had 19K on it and SG had 17K. The PO had mixed all the parts up. It took me a couple of weeks to get everything back on the correct bike. I sold the E for $400. Sold the seat (King/Queen) and fairing off the SG for $350 and the fairing off the SF for $150. I kept the SF. So, basically, minus labor, I was paid $400 to keep a Black SF with 19K miles on it.

Bought a '78 standard in 2000, rode it about a year, petcocks leaked, fried bearings, found another standard on ebay, one owner 12000 miles in 2001, cleaned carbs and tank, always garaged have since put 65,000 on the bike, paid $750. Hve since bought two specials, $200 & $150, and am in process of making one special. Later 'Dog

$100 two years ago. Had headlight problem. Bike had been stored in pieces for a couple of years and needed some TLC. Did electrical fix, cleaned and balanced carbs to get in on the road. Still a work in progress though. Always something to shine up.
