    Sport Cruising Additions

    In an effort take my 79 xs11 and improve my cruisability and still have the semi-naked sportiness I like, I will be installing a sport windshield and saddle bags that zip off.

    For Windshield- I had a National Cycle plaxi-fairing that broke and want to replace it with a smaller sportier fairing. Any Ideas? I still want good chest protection, but want to be able to easily see over it. My old fairing was huge.

    For Saddlebags- I bought some the are black, leather and they unzip and have carrying handles. My question is if any of you have moved your rear turn signals back- onto the rear fender for example, or made extensions to bring them back to make room for saddlebags.

    Any ideas?

    A light bar across the back carrying the signal lights. It can be mounted by using the rear license plate mounting bolts.

      I moved my rear signals to the tail light bracket.
      I had the 3 foot chrome bar at the license holder and didn't like the looks of it when I had the bike nekkid. It was also a PITA to move the signals from fender to frame when I changed configurations.

          I have an enterprise model. Unfortunately my bike started to go over one time and it fell on the sheild a bit and cracked down by the fork. I cemented it again and I hope it will hold. I just bought a fairing hoping to get that on one day.

          I really liked the enterprise shield. A little expensive but great for cold weather riding because it blocks the wind off of the handlebars and on the thighs.
          Owned by a pair of XS11's. An 80 Standard and a 79 Special.
