My New Vetter Trunk or My Bike has got BACK

I was looking for a little trunk for my junk and came across this gadunkadunk on ebay. After a good scrub, I replaced most of the hardware and repainted the pannels. My buddy helped me out making sense of the wiring and his cousin did a little painting as well on the vetter emblems to match the gold YAMAHA and XS11 badges on the bike too. The lock was a little bit of a pain, but once I took a dremel tool to the hole, the perfect fit was mine.

I just wanted to share my success with all you guys. Thought you'd get a kick out of it.

I mean you all like big butts right?









Oh, I also finally got that stock exhaust back on too. Broken posts and all. Took it for a test ride today and all seems okay.

Where is all the snow? That trunk looks pretty good on there, almost like it belongs.
I used to live in your neck of the woods 17 years ago. Bensenville, and Wood Dale. I worked at O'Hare.

That trunk is cool. I use mine to store my helmet while in school.

Also The trunk will carry a 24 pack of mountain dew and 3 #1's from Taco Bell with room to spare.

Those are standard on any Vetter lower. I've never really figured what they are for. I think it's to keep engine heat off the legs. I've got 'em on Zilla. But the lowers on Kong are much warmer on a cold day. They are Yammy OEM and don't have those sheilds.

Hey, I have the same trunk, too. Found it behind a shop I worked at three years ago. Cleaned up nicely. Plan to put LEDs in this summer. Bought a cabinet keylock from Home Despot as it didn't have one.

As for Chicago suburbs.... I was a young, late night gas pumper on Rte 83 between Mt. Prospect and Des Plaines, and am one of the few that can say I met mass murderer John Wayne Gacy and lived to tell of it. I could have ended up as victim #34.

Raced at Santa Fe Speedway for a few, too.

You just have to find the matching-style side bag system to go with that trunk. Is it possible to remove the sissy bar and move the trunk forward a bit?
