I had the frame, calipers and everything else powder coated. I removed all the bearing's and all but did not remove the drive shaft from the swing arm.
Powder coat is heated to 410 degrees and I'm worried about the needle bearing in the u-joint, I looked today at it and the book's and can't figure out how to remove the drive shaft from the swing arm. The books show a c-ring keeper on the splined shaft up inside the u-joint. Hardly any of the splined shaft is visible inside the u-joint. I'll be darned if I can see the damn thing to remove it, had my son-in-law look (with much better eyes) and he could not see it either.
After the keeper is installed doe's it pull back into the u-joint? Or doe's anybody know if it is actually there on a 78E?
