  • XS11 Master Cylinder Reservoir replacement

How many of you would like to replace your Master Cylinder reservoir instead of buying a whole new Master Cylinder? For many years, there was no replacement. We can still get the piston kits, boots, brake switch, levers, etc., but no reservoir.

Well, I stumbled onto a source for these and though I'd float the idea out here to see how many of you would be interested. This source had these manufactured a few (?) years back and he has a few left. I just bought two. I may be able to convince him to start manufacturing them again if we can get enough interest going. What do you say?

I could use a new one, mine has hairline cracks in it but no leaks yet.

I'll take two. Mine are still functioning, but I intend to ride these two beasts until I am too old to get a leg across the seat.

I might be interested in three of them if the price is right.

There was a thread on the triples list about these. Most felt the guys wasn't making them himself (who cares, as long as they work). They also noticed that these might be the short resivoirfor single front disc, ours use the taller version. Again, so what resevoir is just spare fluid.
Just passing along the observations of others on the same item. I have my all metal unit from Mikes XS and I'm completely happy with it. I intalled on on my MN Special and it looks great.

                  Pat,

I had the same worry because you can't tell from the photo (btw, that's his photo, not mine) how deep the reservoir is, but it is the deep one for the dual disc.

                            John,

I WISH I could find a rear one. It took a whole year to find this front one!

Bad news is that I just heard back from the supplier, and he doesn't have the tooling any more, so it means we only have about 20 pcs available and no more to be made.

As soon as I get pricing, I'll post it here. I'm hoping to get the whole lot for those of you who want them. If I can score the whole lot, I might get a price break. Of course, first come, first served.

                            Randy

I got dibs on one. What did you pay for a single reserviour, if I could ask? It looks like there at 15 of them spoken for already. Buy the whole lot. You'll have no trouble getting rid of them.
