      Yeah, I figure as much of a PITA as it is get the carbs in and out on an XJ, I don't really want to have to do it again if I can avoid it!

        I think you will be wasting your time trying to "recondition" the vitron tipped needles. I buy my carb parts from a fella named Jeff Saunders at z1enterprises.com

        Jeff offers great customer service and excellent prices.

        He can get the float assembly kits you need and will probably beat any eBay price you find. Drop Jeff a note and tell him wiredgeorge sent you.
