This is what I want to do to my XS11. Have been looking all over the place for a good looking jap chopper, and I finally found one. Dont you guys think that our engine would look good in this bike. Even if you dont like choppers, you got to admit the Harley guys would'nt be able to touch this. I go to Bike nite every wednesday night here in Memphis. All you see there is Harley choppers. I think it would be refreshing to see something like this drive up. Looks like I found me a good winter project.

jap choppers
I think that the drive shaft would be a big problem but you can probobly get aroung it by making a chain or belt drive. It would be a lot of work."Runnin wild, with a smile, I was burnin up the road with style. Feel the power 90 miles and hour, baby these wheels can fly......" MSO Music 2006

shaft
given the out put on the xs-xj even with a frame made for shaft drive it would be very hard to get our motors to hook up without MAJOR fabrication. You'd have to offset the motor or fab the mid gear,to bolt to a widened tire. That one guy blew through here not real long ago had a good looking start to chain drive conversion, but have not seen anything since.1982 XJ 1100

Nice show bike. Wouldn't ride it tho....
I'd be afraid to sit on it, the forks might brake.....
I guess I'm more of a sport rider... the only "custom" thing that I might be able to survive with is a valk... or a MG California.
LPIf it doesn't have an engine, it's not a sport, it's only a game.
(stole that one from I-dont-know-who)

Bike boy
Hey imay be dumb ,but i'm not stupid!First off I DO NOT want to discourage fabrication of any kind ,by anyone.Second this can be done i've seen it. But ALL THE TIME come on bike boy i've seen a few attempts at chain drive that pic you posted is the only working model i've seen, well i think it works? But that pic is were i want to go with my xj. I think that bike is tits. As for major fabrication i say it is major fabrication,if it wasn't nearly every person on this site would be running a 280-310 rear tire on there XS-XJ.Thats all i'm saying. This mod may be a little harder than you give it credit being is all.But hey thats just my centablo's.by the way did you notice the AIR SHIFTER also?Last edited by chevy45412001; 10-17-2004, 01:55 PM.1982 XJ 1100

The red one that Bikeboy posted has a Honda 750 in it. I have seen pictures of several XS11's, but I don't remember which site they were on. All had hardtails, stretched, but ran narrow tires, and looked fabulous.put something smooooth betwen your legs, XS eleven

This kind of custom stuff is very possible. Sure there are some problems to solve, that is what will make the custom XS so unigue. I have big plans for my "F", stay tuned!
I really like the look of that drag XS. That would make a kill looking street fighter.DZ
