  • Left front Caliper

Seems I have to put a bit (lots) of pressure on the left lower fork to get the caliper body not to rub on the disk
    Any answers???
I've pulled it apart etc but always the same also it's wearing the outside pad on the outer edge of the disk so it isn't touching the inner edge (still stops though)
    Thanks
    CR
ps forks are not bent and rides OK

    Left Front Caliper

You center that caliper on the brake rotor BEFORE you tighten the front axle.
Put bike on center stand. Unload front wheel with small jack under the engine. Don't lift it off the ground, simply unload the bikes weight off the front tire.
Loosen the front axle nut and clamp. Shift the wheel Left/right until the caliper is centered. Re-tighten the axel.

Can't shift the wheel it is bolted hard to the right leg, the left leg floats and the bottom uclamp holds it in place
The right caliper is fine it's just the left one. As far as bolting the wheel onto the axle goes I should mention it is a standard H model axle at the bottom of the fork

        Centering Left Front Caliper

Suggest that you refer to page 194, items 3-4-5-6 in the Clymer manuel. It outlines how to center the left caliper on the rotor and how you position, tighten sequence of the front axle

Will check it when I get home but found a couple of things wrong in the Clymers book. Just seems it was not like that before, from memory....but that could be a problem in itself.
Seems I have to push the leg in a lot harder than I remember to get it to centre the caliper.
