Hello, 1979 1100SF ( ones with the 4 fuel lines ) I thought I would be smart and replace all my old fuel lines when 1 of them cracked. WRONG> So now I am messed up with fuel line that is WAY Too thick and will not bend, The auto store stuff is also TOO thick > Cannot get tank down and lines to not kink

My Request is a link or info to find OEM size Fuel lines like 10 feet. and some clamps and 2 new t fittings . ANY help appreciated. Down hard and tired of smelling gas !

Hey there thanks for the post.

Go to a small engine shop and pick up some viton fuel tubing. Typically comes in a yellow color. Take a piece of your old fuel line so they can match the inside diameter. That stuff is very elastic and will go over the petcock and carb fittings. Don't even need to use clamps, it's going to be a tight enough fit. Used it on my 80SG, my best advice is loop the fuel line so it doesn't get kinks. After a while it stiffens up and will hold its shape.

I personally use the yellow tygon fuel line and like the ability to see the fuel flow.

Thanks > some times the easiest answer in right in your face. Found at McMaster Carr and I hope the hard is the best way to go as they have a soft abut I suspect soft would kink in my applications. Thanks again Jamie

Hi Jax, glad you found some gas line,,,,,the softer line is good as long as it bends without kinking, try a 180 bend and if it doesnt kink you are good to go, plus the soft is really easy to push over the line nipples, use a hose clamp or zip tie to be safe as I have had even the good stuff over time and heat get enlarged and not hold as good. Usually I go to Honda and get their fuel line,,,best stuff along with viton,,,,,ride on,,,,,Mike in Sun Diego

I have Tygon fuel line I bought on E Bay years ago. Good stuff, easy to work with and hardens up over time but it will take a while. The black fuel line sold in auto parts stores break down over time.

go to your nearest cycle shop and get about 4 to 5 feet of fuel line. Carry your a piece of your old tubing that you had previously that worked and match it up. Sometimes they have different sizes available and that is the easiest way to make sure you get the right size. That fuel line will last a long time and does not get stiff quickly. I have had mine on my bike for 10 years with no problems. The clear tubing is ok too but I prefer the black tubing that came on the bike originally for the look.
