The correct plug is a bp6es, no "R"! If you run the "R" plugs, you should pull the resistor from the plug caps. The "R" is to keep radio interference down, but it will reduce the spark energy.

Hey Driver Ray, where do you buy the bp6es? I tried amazon, cdn tire, napa, I'm only finding the BPR ones. They say it's interchangeable with BP6es. How do you 'pull the resistor from the plug caps'? Does it come off the spark plug or off the NG elbow connector thing?

My bike wouldn't start for 6 months (ok 4 months were winter) and it's because i had wrong plugs and corrosion in the elbow plug and copper wire. I cleaned that up, put in 4 new bpr6es plugs, and the bike started right up

BP6ES is no longer available in the US my bet is that Canada isn't any different. Google "remove resistor from ngk spark plug cap" for instructions on how to do that, it's pretty simple.

Yambits : for Yamaha bikes You can also just buy some non resistor replacement spark plug caps.

One other thing that I thought might be mentioned. Beware of buying plugs off of Ebay. There are many listed as BP6ES and they are mostly counterfeit. ngk bp6es spark plug for sale | eBay

I replaced mine. The Honda CB750 coils tat I bought had two caps with elbows for 1&4 and straight caps for 2&3. The elbows came right apart, the straight ones where a different story so I used two of my previous replacements for those.

I have a Napa about 2 miles from my house. I get my oil, plugs, and other small "universal" parts from them.
