  • Squealing brakes

Been using EBC FA34 organic pads forever with no issues. Replaced pads, both ends on last tire change. Have couple hundred miles on them and both ends have started to squeal. Real annoying. Pulled fronts. Looked ok. Cleaned up with grinder, very light resurfaceing. Cleaned ALL mounting surfaces. Emery cloth cleaned all sufaces of fairly smooth rotors. Quick run around block and all seemed good. Rode to work and squealing is back. Brake action is very good except for the annoying squeal. No pulsation in brakes.

Do you have those thin metal "shims"? Are they supposed to help prevent squeal?

Shins are not there😱. I left them out on the last brake job. Had it all reassembled on found em sitting on the bench. Blew it off. Of course now I can’t find them 😤

        Brake Squeal

Pull the calipers off again. Go to the auto parts store and buy some anti-squeal compound liquid. Apply to back side of pads and your problem is solved. It is red in color. Just did it to my front brakes. No more noise.

You can also file the leading edge of the pad(s) with a 45* angle, works for me with the cheaper pads I usually use.
