So I'm going to keep the XJ1100 triple tree and fork setup. I bought bar clamps that look really nice. I assemble the bars on my bench. I used FZ09 components. Now I need to change all the plugs to match the XJ. The levers are adjustable and super smooth. I'm tempted to change my XS1100 as well. Pulling those old levers is not very smooth.

I know what to do on brakes now.

I am going to lower the light and gauges, but I do need to change out the gauges. The current setup is not the look I'm looking for and it's in ok shape.

So then on the front brakes I used a m/c from an FJ and used braided steel lines which also helped the situation. Don't forget to use a brake line splitter from another model for the front set up in whichever method you go for.
Since all this I've now got an XJR1200 complete front end set up on my Midnight.
I wish I could get the XJR1200 parts. We can't get them here. I might try to grab some stuff when I visit the UK and Germany first week of April.

I'm hip!! I just about lost it on a curved onramp in Sacramento this morning. I misjudged my approach angle and braked, but the bike did not want to turn. I had to put my foot down in case I dropped it.

          Been there XJ Kid

Glad you survived the turn Xj kid,,,,also happened more than a few times with me. From what I read through the threads the easiest way to solve the linked system is to get an XS1100 rear cylinder and plug the line at the front junction box. Using the xj rear involves some rearranging of the lines and pressure valve and also plugging the front. THe lines are so short from the rear to the brake the regular rubber is ok, but S Steel braided is bullet proof and stronger. WIth the ss line of my XS1100 the rear is very strong. SO,,,,the xj is next on the project list to ditch the linked system. Ride on,,,,,,Mike in SUn DIego

Thanks for the feedback. The concept just didn't jive. I also noticed uneven wear on the front pads when I took them apart. The old owner had the one set of pads almost gone and the other side looked like new.
