Can the actual wires on pickup coils be COMPLETELY replaced somehow??

      I put the longer wires too loose. Today the timing plate shredded 3 wires. I re-did it with new wire, butt- connectors,and wire ties hopefully holding the wires away from the timing plate.

      If I have to, I'll keep trying til it lasts...

        I read this more carefully. The connectors I used are long and have heat shrink attached. It is working now, but shorter butt-connectors then heat shrink with longer wires that are carefully placed and held in position so they can move with less tugging seems ideal.

        I may not have enough original wire from the pick-up coils to do another repair, but it could last years... I hope.

        Thank you guys. I have been continuing to learn how to trouble-shoot, repair, and improvise.
