Yes, it will illuminate the oil pressure light on the dash if the filament in the tail lite bulb is burned out. Loose pins on it's connector plug can also give a false illumination of the dash light.2H7 (79) owned since '89

Hi BikerPhil , Thanks for the info , I did change the oil pressure switch thinking that was the cause of the warning light illuminating. I unplugged the checker unit and sprayed it with electrical cleaner and refitted and the rear tail light worked again and the warning light extinguished . I guess for a 38 year old bike these things will happen . Many thanks Clive (Bish)79 SF

Bish, if you want to at some point, the LCU can be removed entirely and bypassed by jumping the blue and the blue/yel wires in the harness connector.2H7 (79) owned since '89
