  • XS 1100 Checker Light Relay

    Hi All , Can anybody explain how the checker light relay unit works and what it does on my SF , Many thanks Bish.

    Yes, it will illuminate the oil pressure light on the dash if the filament in the tail lite bulb is burned out. Loose pins on it's connector plug can also give a false illumination of the dash light.

      Hi BikerPhil , Thanks for the info , I did change the oil pressure switch thinking that was the cause of the warning light illuminating. I unplugged the checker unit and sprayed it with electrical cleaner and refitted and the rear tail light worked again and the warning light extinguished . I guess for a 38 year old bike these things will happen . Many thanks Clive (Bish)

        Bish, if you want to at some point, the LCU can be removed entirely and bypassed by jumping the blue and the blue/yel wires in the harness connector.
