Well brothers and sisters I wanted to introduce myself ... I'm currently working on a 79xs1100 project! I picked her up from someone who had her sitting for 10+ years in the back of a shed ...sadly just rotting away... right now I'm trying to diagnose this 5k rpm power wall .... the second I get to 5k she just loses all power🤔.... I have done the basics of cleaning the carbs checking the timing installed new petcocks on a new tank since the old one has a few pin holes ...i found a 81 xs1100h parts bike with the 6.5 gal tank with zero rust in it ! The parts bike has the 1st and 2nd gear slip problem unfortunately.. i changed spark plugs and oil / filter ... i went through all the fuses and looked at most wiring and the all look in order...tonight I'm going to sync the carbs just need to pick up some longer fuel lines since I don't know how to split my aux tank ! I will post some pics soon for everyone and any imput would be greatly appreciated !

Usually, stalling above 5 Krpms is a matter with the main jets, assuming carbs are clean. You didn't say what has been modified from stock. I suggest that you stick with the 79 carbs for that bike.Skids (Sid Hansen)
