I'm looking for some expert opinions... I couldn't find any so I came here
So after putting a head back on a motor I guess I didn't lube everything up enough. One of the valve bucket (lifters) doesn't come all the way up so it is creating a tapping noise from the can hitting it. I'm just trying to see if you guys think since it didn't completely come up do you think it allowed the valve to hit the piston? I know the only way to know for sure is to pull the head.
I'm going to pull the cam pull the valve bucket out try to clean it up and clean up the whole it goes into to see if I can get it to come up completely. Maybe part of the problem is a weak valve spring?
I appreciate all the input in advance.
