I picked up a new oil filter bolt from Parts n More because the head on the old one was rusty, and starting to get a bit rough around the edges.
Once I got the old one out I compared. A bit different.
The threaded section is shorter but I tested and seems to be enought to snug the cover up tight.
Slight difference in the holes, new has all large size, old has large and small, but I'm thinking bigger means more flow = OK
But I noticed inside the bolts there is a spring and ball bearing. The old one will rattle when shaken. The new one not.
What does that thingy inside do, and should it be loose?
