I took my speedo drive apart months ago and now can't remember exactly how it went together, can someone point me in the right direction? Here is the diagram...

Here is what I have...

1) I smeared grease on the 2 gears inside the drive when I had it apart but didn't really pack the whole cavity, is that sufficient?
2) Need to apply grease on both sides of the meter clutch? What about the inside of the oil seal where it seats over the gear unit?
3) Very hard to tell in the diagram which way the raised inner lip on the retainer faces. I have it facing away from the seal/drive and towards the meter clutch...is that correct?
Are the meter clutch and the retainer in constant contact while turning or is there space enough in the hub so they don't touch? I don't see any evidence of wear on either so maybe the coating of grease is enough to prevent wear?
I know, lots of questions about a simple part but I'm always curious about the how and why of things. Once somebody sets me straight, I can put the front wheel back on!
