The FJ1100 is also an 1100 cc engine, just slightly higher compression ratio of 9.5:1 , and it uses 4 valves per cylinder. However, the proper Fuel/AIR ratio is still 14:1, and so I would think that the stock jetting for the carbs would be close and a good place to start. Then adjust according to plug color and response.
The '85 FJ11 microfiche states either 110 or 120 for the mains, and 37.5 for the pilots.

CJ told me to get ahold of Randy at FJOwners.com. He emailed me a setup to start with.
"Here is the setup we run with the FJ1100 carbs with ignition timing and exhaust. Also with adjustable main jet needle. If your main jet needles are stock you will want a set of these http://www.rpmracingca.com/proddetai...MainNeedleShim to richen it up a bit with the pod filters and the 117.5 may be a bit rich for no timing in it but shouldn't hurt anything."
160 air bleed
42.5 pilot jet
117.5 main jet
Needle raised 1 notch
Pilot screws are out about 3/4 turn from flush per fingernail test.

So I had some new 117.5 jets sitting around and I took a little ride over to Chaparral Motorsport's today. They had the 42.5 pilot jets. I thought I was going to get a chance tomorrow to try it out, but the needle seats I have are from the XJ and they are a different size. The FJ seats are in bad shape so I went a head and ordered the rebuild kit from Chaparral.
The adjustable needles are a little pricy. Anyone here try them?
I will have to wait till next weekend since I'm in Florida all week.
